メモ: DPM が VMware 仮想マシンのバックアップに対応したらしい

System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager が UR11 で対応。Azure Backup Server も対応らしい。System Center 2016 にも入ってくるのかな？

Data Protection Manager で気になってた (見て見ぬふりをしていた)、Hyper-V 仮想マシンの Offline または Online タグ が UR9 で削除され、すっきり。

仮想マシンに付く Offline と Online タグはもともと、オンライン バックアップ中に仮想マシンが停止状態になるか、無停止かを示すものでしたが、いろいろと仕様が変更になっていて Offline でも無停止でバックアップできるものがあり、実体を示していませんでした。

DPM used to display an Offline/Online tag to the VM name for Hyper-V VMs. This was intended was to notify users about whether the VM was paused during backup or was always online. However, this behavior was confusing for the customers because the tag was static and it was determined during first inquiry and not updated later. Moreover, for Hyper-V 2012 R2, the VMs will never be interrupted during backups as per the Hyper-V changes mentioned here.

The Offline/Online tag has been removed, and we now display only the Hyper-V VM name. This behavior applies to all existing PGs as well as to new PGs.

System Center 2012 R2 Update Rollup 7

昨日の Windows Update で気付いたんですが、先月末に System Center 2012 R2 Update Rollup (UR) 7 が出てたんですね。DPM と VMM は Windows 10 のサポート、VMM と OpsMgr は Debian 8 のサポートが追加されてます。

3 か月ごとにやってくる面倒な作業ですが、VMM と DPM は UR7 更新後にエージェントを手動でプッシュ更新、OpsMgr は SQL スクリプトの実行やら、管理パックのインポート、UNIX/Linux 管理パックのインポートとエージェントのプッシュ更新が必要です。次回はたぶん 10 月末に UR8 かな。

Operations Manager からのメール通知に外部の SMTP サーバーを使うヒント

System Center Operations Manager のメール通知機能は、匿名または Windows 認証による暗号化されていないSMTP サーバー接続にしか対応していません。

ローカル ネットワークにある、自由がきく (いろいろ転送してくれる) SMTP サーバーを使用することを想定したものです。

SMTP 認証や TLS 接続を要求する外部の SMTP サーバーだとか、Office  365 (Outlook Online) とかは使えません。

だからといって、あきらめるのはまだ早いです。Windows Server の SMTP サーバーを転送サーバーとしてセットアップすればなんとかなります。こちら (↓）が参考になります。

System Center 2012 R2 を導入している場合は、3ヶ月に1度の更新ロールアップです。System Center 2012 R2 RU4 です。System Center 2012 SP1 の場合は RU8。

毎度のことですが、Microsoft Updateで更新するだけじゃ不十分なのでご注意を。KB2992012 の各コンポーネントごとの説明をよく読んで対処しましょう。

SCVMMとSCDPMは管理対象のエージェントの更新（SCVMM 3.2.7768.0、SCDPM 4.2.1273）が必要です。SCDPM のエージェントは更新後に再起動が必要でした。

SCOM は、いつものように SQL スクリプト (\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server \SQL Script for Update Rollups\update_rollup_mom_db.sql、UR_Datawarehouse.sql) の実行が必要。

更新版の管理パックが \Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager\Server\Management Packs for Update Rollups にあるのでインポートが必要です。VMMに付属している管理パックも更新されているので、SCVMM と SCOM を統合構成にしている場合は、VMM の管理パックを \Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Virtual Machine Manager\ManagementPacks から SCOM にインポートして更新する必要あり。（←どちらも既にインポート済みバージョンでした）

なお、SCOM のエージェントは、Microsoft Update で更新されます。

Azure 復旧サービスの Azure Site Recovery で、この 6 月からプレビュー提供だった Azure へのサイト回復機能が GA (General Availability)、正式リリースになりました。プレビュー料金 (50%オフ、2,754 円/月) は 11 月 30 日まで。新料金 (5,508 円/月) は 12 月 1 日から。

Azure Site Recovery には、オンプレミスからオンプレミスのサイト回復、オンプレミスから Azure のサイト回復、VMware サイトのサイト間保護 (InMage Scout による保護) の 3 つの展開方法がありますが、このうちオンプレミスから Azure のサイト回復について説明したドキュメントになります。

9 月 11 日 (米国時間) に Azure Site Recovery のサービスがまたちょっと更新。 Azure Site Recovery と Azure Automation の統合と、コンテナーへの証明書アップロードが不要に。

DPM 2012 R2 UR3 の更新が 0x80070643 で繰り返し失敗する件 (回避策あり)

Windows Update で System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager の更新プログラムのロールアップ (Update Rollup 3: RU3) が 0x80070643 エラーで繰り返し失敗する件で悩んでいましたが、ようやく問題を解消し、更新できました。

この手順で正しいかどうかと言われれば？ですが、とりあえず成功した方法をメモ。

Azure Backup の DPM バージョン要件

Azure Backup の最新のエージェント (MARSAgentInstall.exe) を System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager の管理サーバーにインストールできない件。

Update Rollup 3 に更新できていないことが原因でした。

インストーラーのログ OBInstaller0Curr.errlog (場所は %Windir%\Temp\ だったかな？) には、次のように記録されていました。

WARNING    The version of DPM Engine is installed on current machine is incompatible with DPMA agent. The minimum required DPM version is: 4.1.3453.0 or 4.2.1250.0. Installed version is 4.2.1235.0

System Center 2012 R2 Update Rollup 3

System Center 2012 R2 ユーザーには頭の痛い、Update Rollup (UR) 3 が公開されました。対象は、Data Protection Manager、Operations Manager、Operations Manager の UNIX/Linux 管理パック、Orchestrator、Service Provider Foundation(SPF)、Service Manager、Virtual Machine Manager。

今回の UR3 では、App Controller と Configuration Manager、Endpoint Protection の更新はないみたい。

System Center の UR では毎度のことですが、Microsoft Update による更新だけでは不十分で、コンポーネントによってはエージェントの更新やらSQLスクリプトの実行やら、管理パックのインポートやら、追加の手順が必要になるので、上の KB の中にあるリンクから個々のコンポーネントのKBを参照して、追加のインストール手順を確認のこと。

SQL Server 2012 を使用している場合、オプションの更新として SQL Server 2012 Service Pack (SP) 2 も降ってくるけど、System Center 2012 R2 のコンポーネントの中には、SQL Server 2012 SP2 を正式サポートしていないものもあるのでご注意 。っと、SQL Server 2012 SP2 を選択、更新開始してから気付いた。現状、正式にサポートとなっているのは、Operations Manager と Configuration Manager だけみたい。ちなみに、SQL Server 2014 をサポートしているのは Configuration Manager Cumulative Update (CU) 1 以降だけ。

これからこれで大仕事。1 月の UR1、4 月の UR2、そして今月の UR3、 3 ヶ月ごとの大仕事、ちょっとうんざり。

追記: 同じ日に Windows Azure Pack UR3 も出てました。Windows Azure Pack UR3 が System Center 2012 R2 UR3 を前提としているかどうかは良く分かりません。

これまでは System Center 2012 SP1 または R2 Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) の 2 つのプライベート クラウドを拠点間でレプリケーション保護するものでしたが、新サービスは拠点間に加えて、オンプレミス（＝VMM のクラウド）と Microsoft Azure 間でレプリケーション保護できるようになるそうな。Azure へのレプリケーションは、System Center 2012 R2 の VMM でサポート。この新機能のほうはプレビュー提供。

注: 価格は保護される仮想マシン 1 台あたり拠点間レプリケーションで 1,632 円/月。拠点－Azure 間レプリケーションで 2,754 円/月(→ Price)。いずれも拠点－Azureのほうはプレビュー期間中の 50％オフ価格。また、Azure へのレプリケーションは "Note: currently available only through the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement" だそうです。仮想マシンのゲスト OS やアプリケーションのライセンスの関係でしょうか？？？ (これは想像ですが、EA ライセンスは、障害復旧を目的とするコールドバックアップ→http://www.microsoft.com/ja-jp/business/mrp/software-assurance-benefits.aspx の権利がある SA を含むからとか？)

さっそく、EA に関係しなさそうな、ちっちゃな仮想マシンで試してみた。

System Center 2012 R2 > VMM に久々に VMware と XenServer を追加してみた

こんなスクリーンショット (→) を撮りたくて、久々に VMware ESXi と vCenterServer の管理環境と XenServer を立て、System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) のホストとして追加して見ました。

ちょっと古いですが、VMware ESXi/vCenter Server は 5.1、XenServer は 6.0 です。

vCenterServer はインストールがホントに面倒です。FQDN の入力で叱られるときは、IP アドレスで強行するとうまくいくみたい。

XenServer は、XenServer 側に System Center Integration Pack をインストールして、証明書をほにゃららすればすんなり追加できるはず...

Windows Azure Recovery Manager の一般提供開始だそうな

Windows Azure Recovery Manager の一般提供が開始されました（2014/06/27 追記: 現在は Azure Site Recovery という名称になりました）。2014/2/28までは現在と同じプレビュー料金 (664.32円/VM) が提供されますが、2014/3/1から正規料金(1,328.64円/VM  6/20 現在、1,632 円/VM) になるのでご注意。

一般公開にあわせて、3.2.1.5.0 以前のエージェント (プロバイダー) は有効期限になるため (→)、最新版 (3.3.140.0) にアップグレードする必要があります。


Windows Azure Recovery Manager は、System Center Virtual Machine Manager の 2 つのクラウド間で、Hyper-V レプリカを利用したクラウドの保護と拠点のフェールオーバーによる回復を可能にするサービス。「Windows Server 2012 R2 テクノロジ入門」では機能の概要に触れています。

SLES 11 SP3 と RHEL 6.5 の仮想マシンに Linux 用のユニバーサル エージェントを組み込んでみました。

System Center 2012 R2 > DPM でエンドユーザーの回復を有効にできない

System Center の Data Protection Manager (DPM) には、セルフサービス回復 (エンドユーザーの回復) という機能があって、DPM サーバーでバックアップしている SQL Server データベースを、SQL Server の管理者がセルフサービスで回復 (ファイル or 別の SQL Server インスタンス) できます。

この機能を利用するには、いろいろと設定が必要なのですが、System Center 2012 R2 の Data Protection Manager ではエンドユーザーの回復の有効化をできないという、痛い問題がありました。機能を有効化するには、まず、［Active Directory の構成］ボタンをクリックして Active Directory のスキーマを拡張する必要があるのですが、このボタンをクリックすると、アプリケーション (dpmdsacl.exe) がクラッシュして、Active Directory を準備できないんです。

ちなみに、左の画面は別の方法でスキーマを拡張して、なんとか有効化を成功させた画面です。その代替策は、以下のフォーラムで見つけました (ただし、サポート外)。私の環境の場合、DPM サーバーでの reg.exe バッチの実行 (クラッシュ回避のため) と DPMEndUserDomainPrep.ps1 のドメイン コントローラーでの実行 (スキーマの手動拡張)　で対処できました。
